SWEBOK- Chapter 12 Software Measurement (draft) [pdf]
Measurement is fundamental to the engineering disciplines, and, at the inception of the SWEBOK, it had been given to all the Knowledge Areas (KA) associate editors as a criterion for identifying relevant measurement-related knowledge in their respective KA. It is therefore one of the three common themes (with Quality and Tools) cutting across most KA.
To provide an integrated view of the measurement related knowledge spread throughout all other chapters, and to ensure a full coverage of the information about measurement is it most essential to consolidate such knowledge into one specific Knowledge Area in the SWEBOK Guide. This new knowledge area should be structured as all other ones in the SWEBOK Guide.
A draft Measurement Knowledge area has been proposed by L. Buglione and A. Abran and must be reviewed by experts in software measurement in order to progressively develop a consensus on its taxonomy and content.
